Voltak is an indie rock / post-punk act from Budapest, Hungary, formed in 2010.
Mesmerized by cultic soundscapes of the 80's and filled with a nearly unbearable load of memories.
2010 - the band was founded in Miskolc under the name 'Kevesek' for a special one-off invitation, to play a concert in a kindergarten.
The first line up, Gravel Shores (Dániel Czakó) on guitars/vocals, Balázs Hubicska on bass and Zoltán Mosonyi on drums
decides to continue and records a demo entitled 'Mind, azon által'.
2011 - Gergő Drimus replaces Balázs on bass. 'Kiébredve' single released.
2012 - Bandname changes to 'Voltak'. György replaces Zoltán on drums. The group is relocated to Budapest.
Demons appear to be counted and defeated slowly in the following years.
2017 - debut album 'When All Just Were' arrives.
2018 - single 'Say No to Anything' is released on floppy disk limited to 25 copies. The band returns to the stage.
2019 - Gergő leaves the band, Voltak becomes a duo.
2021 - after years of composing and recording, during cursed pandemic times, second album 'The Hastening' releases.
Zsolt Tótváradi joins the band on bass, the new line-up debuts at Fekete Zaj Fesztivál.
